24-hour free hotel shuttle:

The Information Center next to the baggage claim area in the Fairbanks airport provides free calls to hotels. After you arrive please contact your hotel to arrange to be picked up by the shuttle. The hotels only accept shuttle bookings from guests that have already arrived at the airport. There is no way to make an advance reservation.

When you book the hotel shuttle, please provide the hotel with your personal information: full name (in pinyin), number of people, etc.

After you call to book, the hotel shuttle will take around 30 minutes to arrive at the airport.

As night falls, you’ll board the Northern Lights shuttle at 10:00 PM, which will take you to our exclusive Aurora Observation Cabin. This secluded spot, far from city light pollution, offers one of the best chances to experience the Northern Lights in all their glory. Accompanied by an expert Aurora guide, you’ll learn about the science behind this stunning natural phenomenon. Your guide will also share camera settings and photography tips to help you capture the perfect shot of the auroras.

Inside the cabin, you can relax with complimentary hot drinks and coffee, while keeping an eye on the Aurora Monitor screen. The first viewing of the Northern Lights is included in your experience, and you’ll be able to enjoy them in warmth and comfort. After an unforgettable night of aurora watching, you’ll return to your hotel around 2:00 AM.

In the evening, at 10:00 PM, you’ll board the Aurora Shuttle and head to our specially chosen Aurora-Viewing Lodge, far from city light pollution. This prime location offers an excellent opportunity to see the Northern Lights. Once there, our expert guides will share insights about the aurora and provide tips on camera settings and photography techniques to help you capture stunning photos of the lights.

The cabin offers complimentary hot drinks, coffee, and a Northern Lights monitoring screen, so you can warm up and track the auroras in comfort. The second viewing of the Northern Lights is included in your experience. After a memorable night of aurora watching, you’ll return to the hotel to rest around 2:00 AM.

Around 11:00 AM, you’ll depart from your hotel and embark on a scenic bus ride to Chena Hot Springs Resort. Famous for its century-old natural hot springs, the resort also features an impressive ice sculpture museum and innovative, eco-friendly renewable energy projects, making it a must-visit destination for anyone in Fairbanks.

At the resort, unwind in the outdoor mineral hot spring pools, surrounded by snow-covered landscapes and misty waters. Experience the unique contrast of “ice on one side and spring-like warmth on the other.” For an extra touch of magic, you’ll have the chance to visit the world’s only year-round ice sculpture museum (entrance fee not included). This stunning museum is crafted from 1,000 tons of ice and showcases intricate sculptures created by world-renowned ice artists, including ice tables, chairs, and utensils.

If you’re feeling adventurous, head over to the Ice Bar, where you can sip an Apple Martini from a glass made entirely of ice (admission not included; guests must be 21 or older with valid ID).

1) At Chena Hot Springs Village: locker rental: $0.50 per use; towel rental: $5 per towel; bring your own swimwear; slippers may be brought as needed.

2) For safety reasons, minors under age 18 may not enter the outdoor natural rock pool, but they may use the indoor pool and the outdoor hot tub.

3) If you choose not to enter the hot springs for your own reasons, the fee is not refundable.

4) The Ice Sculpture Museum has fixed operating hours. If you plan to visit, please make reservations in advance at the Hot Spring Village.

In the morning, you’ll depart from your hotel and head south along the Richardson Expressway, enjoying the breathtaking scenery as you travel toward the Castner Glacier Ice Cave. After a short drive, you’ll embark on a 2-mile guided hike to reach the largest valley ice cave in North America, nestled in the eastern part of the Alaska Mountains and connected to the Castner Glacier.

As you approach the cave, the sheer scale and grandeur of the place will take your breath away. The blue ice cave, a true marvel of nature, is covered in layers of ice that have accumulated over thousands of years. The ice is crystal-clear, and as light filters through, the layers of mountain minerals create stunning, metallic patterns that shine like gold inlaid into jade. 1) There are no meteorological facilities in the Castner Glacier Ice Cave area, so it is impossible to judge the local weather conditions in advance. If the ice cave cannot be reached successfully due to weather reasons after arrival, no fee will be refunded.

2) When Fairbanks leaves, if it is not suitable to drive due to the road condition warning, the trip of the day will be cancelled and the original route will be refunded.

3) The Castner Glacier Ice Cave is a natural landscape with certain risks. Please follow the requirements of the professional guide during the whole process!

Next, your guide will take you to the North Pole Museum, located on the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus. This museum is a fascinating exploration of the Arctic world and the history of its early inhabitants. The building itself, with its sleek white lines and curved forms, reflects the snow-covered landscapes of the Arctic, shimmering in the sunlight. Along the way, you’ll receive tips on camera settings and photography techniques to help you capture stunning photos of the auroras. After an unforgettable experience, you’ll return to your hotel at around 2:00 AM.

Dog Sledding Adventure (optional)

This morning, you’ll depart from your hotel and meet Leslie, a passionate dog lover and experienced musher who will guide you on an unforgettable dog sledding adventure! Originally from the U.S. mainland, Leslie moved to Alaska 20 years ago and has since built a thriving dog-sledding experience and cultural center with a team of 50 dogs. Her deep connection to the sport, combined with her love for these incredible animals, has made her a well-known figure in the community. Leslie is also heavily involved in the Alaska International Dog Sled Race, a global event, and has opened her own training ground to support young mushers while offering visitors the chance to try dog sledding firsthand. All proceeds from her operations go toward preparing for international races, making her a key supporter of the sport’s future.

Before your sled ride, you’ll have the chance to meet and interact with the friendly dogs, each with their own unique personality. Then, get ready for an exhilarating sledding experience across Alaska’s breathtaking frozen landscape (approximately 20-25 minutes). The dogs, arranged in pairs, will race along the snowy forest trails, with the lead dog steering the way and the strongest dog pulling from the rear. Two passengers, accompanied by a skilled musher, will ride together on the sled as they zoom through the winter wonderland, sending up a cloud of snow behind them. It’s a thrilling ride, filled with the rush of the cold air and the joy of being pulled by these amazing dogs.

2) Fly Over the Arctic Circle Adventure (Fly northbound, about 1.5 hours, drive back, about 10 hours, afternoon departure)

3) Aurora-Viewing Lodge Or Aurora Chasing (approximately 4 hours round trip):

Overland Adventure Across the Arctic Circle (optional)

Departing between 10:30 AM and 11:00 AM, you’ll board a professional polar bus for a thrilling journey toward the Arctic Circle along the Dalton Highway, one of Alaska’s most remote and rugged roads. Stretching 414 miles, the Dalton Highway is known as one of the “World’s Ten Deadliest Highways” and is accessible only to licensed vehicles. As you travel through the pristine tundra landscape of the Arctic wilderness, you’ll have the chance to spot wildlife such as caribou, Arctic foxes, wolves, bears, and musk oxen.

Along the way, you’ll cross the Yukon River, North America’s third-longest river, and see the iconic North-South Oil Pipeline, a remarkable engineering feat that spans across Alaska. Finally, you’ll reach the Arctic Circle (66°33’N), where you’ll receive an Arctic Circle Expedition Certificate as a keepsake of your incredible adventure.

If you’re lucky, you may even catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights on your return journey. You’ll arrive back in Fairbanks between 2:00 AM and 3:00 AM the following morning.

If you have a flight scheduled for the following day, please ensure it’s booked for no earlier than 7:00 AM to allow ample time for your return.

Arrive at the airport by 11:30 AM for a scenic sightseeing flight to Coldfoot. From the air, you’ll be treated to stunning views of Alaska’s snow-covered polar tundra. Upon arrival, you’ll have the opportunity to send a postcard from the unique Polar Post Office in Coldfoot, sharing a piece of this remote adventure with loved ones.

In the afternoon, you’ll board a professional polar bus for your return journey to Fairbanks along the famous Dalton Highway. On the way, you’ll stop to visit the iconic oil pipeline and the Yukon River, North America’s third-longest river. You’ll also reach the landmark Arctic Circle (66°33’N), where you’ll receive an Arctic Circle Expedition Certificate to commemorate your unforgettable experience in the far north.

You can expect to arrive back in Fairbanks between 2:00 AM and 3:00 AM the following morning. If you need to fly out the next day, please ensure your flight is scheduled for after 7:00 AM to avoid the risk of missing your connection.

In the event your flight is canceled due to weather conditions, a full refund will be provided, and you’ll have free time to relax before your next adventure.

Ice Fishing Tour

From November to March, Alaska’s rivers and lakes freeze over, creating the perfect conditions for ice fishing and a cozy barbecue experience at a lakeside cabin. Before heading out onto the ice, safety is a top priority. The ice must be at least 8-10 centimeters thick to ensure it’s safe; anything thinner can be dangerous. The cold water temperatures slow down fish activity, putting them into a semi-dormant state, which makes them less responsive to external stimuli. The thick ice helps buffer the fish from environmental changes, creating the ideal conditions for ice fishing.

Ice fishing is a beloved winter tradition for Alaskans. Once you catch your fish, your guide will grill it up for you, offering a fresh and delicious meal right on the ice. Any additional fish caught will be carefully released back into the lake, preserving the natural habitat. It’s an unforgettable way to experience Alaska’s winter wilderness!
