Plaza Murillo
On one side of Plaza Murillo stands the stunning Cathedral, built in 1835. Perched atop a steep hill, its main entrance is 12 meters higher than the base on Calle PotosÃ. Adjacent to the cathedral is the colonial-era Government Palace, the official residence of Bolivia’s President. Also known as Palacio Quemado (Burned Palace), this historic building is infamous for having been destroyed by fire on two separate occasions.
——————————
Mercado de las Brujas
The Witches’ Market is lined with shops on both sides, most of which sell popular Bolivian souvenirs, such as alpaca wool products. The vibrant colors and rich, ethnic patterns make these items a favorite among tourists. As you stroll down the narrow street, the distinctive scent of herbs grows stronger the further you go. Yes, the Witches’ Market is a place where the atmosphere is felt through its unique smells. In addition to selling typical tourist trinkets, the shops offer a variety of charms, amulets, and traditional herbs, all rooted in Aymara culture.

Calle Jaén
Jahn Street, located near Plaza Murillo in the city center, is not only one of the most famous streets in La Paz but also one of the best-preserved examples of Spanish colonial architecture. The oldest colonial buildings here date back to the 18th century, and many of the houses are now painted in vibrant colors, giving the street a unique Bohemian charm. Despite its short length, this street hides some of La Paz’s most interesting museums. You can choose to visit the Museo de Metales Preciosos, which houses gold, silver, and copper artifacts dating back over 3,000 years, or head to the Museo Costumbrista Juan de Vargas, which showcases various aspects of La Paz and Bolivia’s rich history.
——————————
La Paz Cable car experience
The La Paz Cable Car is a public transportation system in the city and holds the title of the highest urban cable car system in the world. Riding the cable car offers breathtaking views of the majestic Andes Mountains and a panoramic vista of La Paz, making it a popular attraction for many visitors.

Moon Valley
The beauty of the Valley of the Moon is entirely the work of nature’s craftsmanship. Over time, the mountains, water, and rocks have been shaped into various forms and colors, creating an astonishing landscape. The rocks on the mountain contain different minerals, which, when eroded by air and water, reveal a spectrum of colors ranging from deep to light shades, as if dipped in ink. Most of the rocks here are beige, but if you look closely, you’ll also notice shades of crimson and deep purple. When the sunlight reflects off them, the scene becomes even more vibrant. There are no buildings in the valley, preserving the untamed spirit of the Andes Mountains in its purest form.
