Formed by the Niagara River, which carries water from Lake Erie to Lake Ontario before eventually flowing into the Atlantic Ocean via the Gulf of Saint Lawrence, the falls boast the highest flow rate of any waterfall in North America with a vertical drop of over 50 meters (160 feet).

    Maid of The Mist

What makes Niagara Falls truly spectacular is the combination of its height and immense volume. During peak daytime hours, over 6 million cubic feet (168,000 cubic meters) of water rushes over the crest every minute. The famous Maid of the Mist boat tour brings passengers as close as possible to the falls, sailing right into the mist created by the powerful cascade as the Niagara River plunges over the edge.

Old Fort Niagara is a historic landmark with over 300 years of history. Its strategic location on the shores of Lake Ontario made it a key stronghold in several major conflicts, including the French and Indian War, the American Revolutionary War, and the War of 1812. Beyond its rich history, the fort is beautifully set against the stunning backdrop of Lake Ontario.

    ------------------------------

    Cave of the Winds
